King Cole's contributions to the Cape Region. Shown are (l-r)

ing of Milton.
Auction
Continued from page 33
purchased the property in the fall
of 2000 with the stated purpose of
creating a residential develop-
ment of upscale homes in a set-
ting that capitalizes on natural
green space and streams.
Citing Milton as a quaint small
town on the edge of growth and
development, Tom Draper said he
and his wife want to see homes
and perhaps some commercial ar-
eas of a scale that encourages
walking and a neighborhood at-
mosphere.
What's next for Cannery Vil-
lage, LLC?
"More planning," said Dvor-
nick. "We are moving through
phase one of our plan: getting the
land cleared. We have D&D De-
molition clearing out and doing
some salvage work now. We ha/e
half of the original plant mainte-
nance shop available for rent now.
"Soon we'll be scheduling
more meetings with town officials
and following up on annexation
and zoning matters."
Krasnoff signs on as head chef at Rose &
Crown in Lewes; begins new job Jan. 29
By Dennis Forney
David Krasnoff, former chef
and originator of Kupchick's
Restaurant on Lewes Beach, has
signed on as new head chef at the
Rose and Crown Restaurant on
Second Street in Lewes.
John Lester, owner of the Rose
& Crown, said Krasnoff will be
coming to work beginning Jan.
29.
"DK is an excellent chef with a
great reputation," said Lester.
"We're hoping to combine the
best of Kupchick's with the best
of the Rose & Crown. Lester,
who has owned and operated the
Rose & Crown for six years, said
he is also planning to upgrade the
decor of the popular restaurant
and do some painting and add
some new appliances.
Kupchick's Restaurant closed
Jan. 8 after 16
years of con-
tinuous opera2 '
tion on Lewes
Beach. The
building and
property have
been sold to
Fran Gonzon
KRASNOFF and Rush Ellis
who plan to
raze the building and develop two
bayfront lots contiguous to seven
other lots they have developed on
land adjacent to the Kupchick's
property.
"I'm planning to go low key un-
til mid-February," said Krasnoff
this week. "Right now we're
moving everything out of the old
restaurant for sale at Dave Wil-
son's auction. It's kind of sad.
But I need to get my bearings at
the Rose & Crown before I really
get moving there. That will take
some time.
"I'm planning to add some
things but I have to get used to the
set-up in the kitchen at the Rose &
Crown and the equipment that's
there. Plus I need to see how the
place operates."
