The following movies will play at the Movies at Midway, Friday, Jan. 19 through Thursday, Jan. 25: • The Gift: Cate Blanchett, Giovanni Ribisi, Greg Kinnear, Hilary Swank, Katie Holmes and Keanu Reeves head the cast of The Gift, a dramatic thriller about a widowed psychic (Blanchett) who offers readings to the local townies in order to make money for her family. She begins to have disturbing visions about the darker side of her neighbors, though, including a murderous vi- sion. Rated PG- 13. • Snatch: Diamond dealers, boxers, gypsies, car thieves, and dog fights are all a part of Lon- don's tough East End, the back- drop for this highly anticipated comedy starring Brad Pitt, Dennis Farina, Jason Statham, Jason Fle- myng and Benicio del Tore. Rat- ed PG-13. • The Pledge: On the day of his retirement from the local po- lice force, a small town homicide detective (Jack Nicholson) makes a pledge to the family of a slain eight-year-old girl to pursue and capture her killer• Also stars Michael O'Keefe, Robin Wright Penn, Benicio del Tore and Sam Shepard. Rated R. • All the Pretty Horses: Di- rected by Billy Bob Thorton, All the Pretty Horses features Matt Damon and Henry Thomas as two young men who celebrate the end of World War II by riding into the wild west in search of adventure. After crossing the Mexican bor- der the two become smitten by the daughter of a wealthy ranch owner, Penelope Cruz. Trouble ensues• Rated PG- 13. • Cast Away: A FedEx trou- bleshooter whose plane crashes in the South Pacific, Tom Hanks is stranded on a remote island for four years. While he is assumed dead by relatives, co-workers and his fianc6e, Hanks manages to brave his surroundings through a show of strength of mind and en- durance of spirit• Rated PG- 13. • Antitrust: Delaware native and fast rising golden boy Ryan Phillipe stars opposite Tim Rob- bins in this computer age sus- pense story• Phillipe, a computer genius, is flattered to be recruited by a multi billion dollar company until their success tactics are re- vealed to be unethical and dan- gerous• Rated PG- 13. • Family Man: Wall Street- smart bachelor Nicholas Cage is taken for a wild turn when he wakes up one morning to find he is married with children. Also stars Tea Leoni. Rated PG-13. • Miss Congeniality: A dowdy FBI agent (played by Sandra Bul- lock) is sent undercover as a beauty queen to make a bust. Rated PG- ! 3. • Dracula 2000: A modern day adaptation of the classic Dracula tale. A vampire hunter leaves his home of London to travel to New Orleans. Stars Johnny Miller, Justine Waddeli, Gerald Butler and Jennifer Espos- ito. Rated R. • What Women Want: A sweet romantic comedy with an all-star cast, What Women Want is the story of a man (Mel Gibson) who survives a serious accident that leaves him with the ability to read women's minds. Helen Hunt plays Gibson's boss, who evolves into Gibson's love interest• Rated PG-13. • Finding Forrester Sean Connery portrays an eccentric, reclusive author content to inhab- it a solitary world until he meets a brash African American scholar- ship student from an all white prep school• Newcomer Robert Brown stars as a youth who has found success as a basketball player but aspires to a career in writing• E Murray Abraham also stars. Rated PG- 13 • 13 Days: This historic drama and political thriller recounts the JFK administration handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Kevin Costner, Bruce Greenwood and Steven Culp carry out the drama of the ultimate Cold War battle that tettered on becoming World War III. Critical review averages an unequivocal A. Rated PG- 13. • Vertical Limit: Chris O'- Donnell stars as a young climber tapped to climb K-2, the world's second highest peak, to rescue his sister and her team. Rated PG- 13. • Save the Last Dance In the aftermath of her mother's death, small town girl Julia Stiles awak- ens to dance and romance in Chicago, amid racial hurdles and high school drama• The film also stars Wilmington native Sean Patrick Thomas, who portrays Stiles' love interest. Rehoboth Art League to offer ceramic classes Ceramic artist Patrick Caughy will teach Hot Pots, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 3 at the Rehoboth Art League• Basic handforming techniques will be matched with basic Raku firing skills• The class will also focus on the loosening of imagination and experimentation• All levels of handbuild- ing and wheel throwing are welcome.
