"He hadn't been feeling well for
quite some time," said Dr. David
Robinson, CR district superin-
tendent who planned to travel
north Thursday night to visit his
Iongtime coach. "He just tbund
out about this [blockages] recent-
ly, but he was in good spirits go-
ing into the surgery. It was really
major surgery - from what I un-
derstand they did things even be-
yond the quadruple bypass. But
according to all the people I've
spoken to the prognosis is very
good."
Robinson said Coveleski will
definitely sit our the rest of the
basketball season while he is re-
covering, and his status as head
football and lacrosse coach re-
mains the same.
Tom Coveleski, who works at
the Sussex Elementary Consor-
tium, took the rest of the week off
to spend time with his brother.
CAPE UPSETS DELMAR -
Last Friday, Jan. 12, the Cape
boyls basketball team clawed back
towards respectability with a 67-
55 road victory over Delmar. The
Vikings improved their record to
4-5 as they await the arrival of the
Laurel Bulldogs driven by lead
dog B.J. Joseph. Cape was led in
scoring by Pat Woods with 20 tbl-
lowed by Andre Dunning with 16
points. Rebounding Thaddeus
Shockley hit tbr nine points while
Antonio Alford garnered eight.
Both Woods and Joey Vavala each
canned a pair of three-pointers.
The game was tied at 40 after
three periods, but Cape outscored
the Wildcats 27-15 in the final
frame to ice the game.
DELMAR WILDCATS BEL-
LY UP - The Cape wrestling team
won its second straight dual meet
of the season with a 62- ! 5 thrash-
ing of the visiting Delmar Wild-
cats. Cape spotted Delmar a 12-0
led before exploding for ! i victo-
ries, which included nine pins.
Winning by pin were Brandon
Welling, Kyle Hopkins, Jonathan
Downing, Will Albanese, Jenna
Pavlik, Kyle Travis, Andy
Bradley, Ryan Martin, Johnny
Longo and Jody Brittingham. Jon
Downing had the quickest pin in
24 seconds.
