CAPE GAZETYE, Friday, April 14 -April 20, 2000 - 25 Ann Hobbs weds Terence Noon at Mariner's Bethel Church Ann Hobbs, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Allen Hobbs of Chevy Chase, Md., and Terence • Michael Noon, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Victor Edwin Noon of Baltimore and Ocean City, Md., were married at 4 p.m., May 15, 1999 at the Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View. The Rev. Charles Lee Updike of Gaithersburg, Md. conducted the ceremony. The bride wore a matinee- length candlelight Dupione silk gown with Alencon and Brussels laces, featuring an English bodice with Sabrina neckline and puffed sleeves tufted with seed pearls. Her pearl-edged veil fell from a double pearl wreath around her head with a front drop pearl and a fall of lily of the valley on the right side. She carried a hand- wrapped bouquet of pale pink pe- onies, crystalline roses, wild Monte Casino asters, with a touch Mr. and Mrs. Terence M. Noon of white lilac. Intertwined throughout was a soft green leaf of silver dollar eucalyptus. The stems were then wrapped in dou- ble satin and braided for intricacy and detail. Holly Allyson Hobbs of Paris, France, the bride's sister, was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Christopher Edward Burnes of Duxbury, Mass., and Kelly Allen Hobbs of Santa Fe, N.M., sisters of the bride, who were joined by the bride's cousins, Mrs. Marc Ronald Hamet of Greenwich, Conn., and Mrs. Bradley Ross Hayek of New Market, Md. The best man was the groom's brother, Patrick Den- nis Noon of Alexandria, Va. The groom's second brother, Timothy Kevin Noon of Baltimore, and a cousin, Kevin Joseph Noonof Bel Air, Md., were groomsmen, as were Robert Harcum Ward of Charlotte, N.C. and Christopher Allen Wilson of Chantilly, Va., cousins of the bride. The flower girl was Aileen Vir- ginia Hearn of Rehoboth Beach, and the ring bearer was Tariq Ahmed of Georgetown, both for- mer pupils of the bride at the Jef- ferson School in Georgetown. The Lord's Prayer (Malotte) and Ave Maria solos were per- formed by Christie Lynn Taylor. They were accompa- nied on the piano by Christie Tay- lor', who taught music at the Jef- ferson School. Following the wedding, the bride and groom hosted a chil- dren's reception in the Fellowship Hall of the Church, for the bride's pupils and their parents who at- tended the wedding. A lawn re- ception' with dinner and dancing followed at Happy View Farm, the bride's home near Frankford. The bride is an alumna of the Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, and has a bachelor's degree in Eu- ropean history from Smith Col- lege and a master's degree from the University of University of California, Los Angeles. She is currently employed at the South Coast Wastewater Treatment Plant at Bethany Beach, and is en- rolled in the environmental engi- neering program at Delaware Technical & Community College, Georgetown. The groom attended the University of Maryland in its education program. He is present- ly employed by the House of Welsh Restaurant in Fenwick Is- land.
