He also knows that many peo- ple aren't enamored with the idea of working out surroty ex- ercise ipment ,,=wal in a fitness club. i: : That is the! driving forge: the new busin he : opened: 412 Savaah Road in Lewes€ next to:otnBevorage Mart. ; Rocks, Rims and Rapids now  offers residents of and visitors to the Cape Region the option of outdoor exercise. Rocks refers to the 24-foot mo- bile rock wall that can be towed to any location. Rims refers to the eight moun- tain bikes that can be rented on a daily or weekly basis. And Rapids refers to Carter's wide selection of kayaks that can be paddled on the ocean, bays, rivers, canals and streams. "The whole idea is to get people outdoors to get in shape," said Carter, who worked last summer as a personal trainer at The Firm Fitness Club. The Milford native earned a de- gree in exercise science at Fort Louis College in Durango, Colo., and that's where he learned rock climbing, mountain biking and whitewater rafting. Think the kids might want to learn how to rock climb? Just call Carter in advance and he'll bring his mobile rock wall to the campsite, provide the instruction and then oversee the scouts as they attempt to climb the 24-foot rock wall. Say the several members of your family are in town for a visit and most of them love to ride bikes to stay in shape. Give Carter a call and he can arrange for and/or lead a bike tour of any distance in the Cape Region. He'll even bring the bikes to you, if need be. Say some out-of-town friends pay you a surprise visit and some- one suggests a midnight cruise of the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal. No problem, just give Carter a call and he can arrange and/or lead a kayak trip from Rehoboth Bay to Milton and all parts in between. "All people need to do is just give me a call and I can set up anything they need," said Carter, adding that he can provided in- struction on or off site, and that he can cater to private parties, corpo- rate affairs, youth and civic organ- izations - any group that would be interested in some fun along with some exercise. Carter also noted that in about a week, his business will be the first full kayak retail shop in the area. To help kick things off for the season, Rocks, Rims and Rapids will hold a grand opening celebra- tion on Easter weekend, April 22 and 23, complete with a live radio broadcast, food and refreshments and libations from Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats. He's also offering half-price kayak trips that weekend to those who designate the trips to a wor- thy cause, such as cleaning up the inland bays. Providers and staff at Bayside Health Association gathered March 11, at Sussex Pines in Georgetown to honor employees for their dedication and service to Bayside Health Association. The first of what Bayside hopes to make an annual event, treated employees to dinner, dancing, a slide show of memories and an evening of fun. Founded in 1988, Bayside pro- vides family medicine, pediatric, ear-nose-throat, obstetrical and gynecological services in Lewes, Georgetown, Milford and Ocean View communities.
