Philly's K-floor visits Dogfish Head April 15
By Jen Ellingsworth
Taking its name from a classic
Howlin' Wolf blues tune,
Philadelphia ensemble K-Floor
makes a repeat performance at
Rehoboth's Dogfish Head
Brewings & Eats at 10 p.m.,
Saturday, April 15.
K-Floor has shared stages with
Robin Trower of Procul Harem,
Otis Rush and Roomful of Blues,
among other top-sbelf acts. K-
Floor's CD of original music,
"Non Filtered,'" was released in
April 1999. K-Floor began in
1996 at the Paseo School of Fine
Performing Arts in Kansas City,
with founding members Nick
Schnebelen, guitar and vocals,
Chris Schutz, bassist, and the
band's original drummer. After a
year playing as a trio on the local
circuit, K-Floor moved to
Philadelphia in 1997 and wel-
comed Justin DiFebbo as
pianist/B3 organist and Zil as
drummer/percussionist.
Playing authentic-style blues
with its own original twist, K-
Floor plays its own Philadelphia
area and beyond, performing at
clubs, festivals and other events.
Named Best Band in Philadelphia
in 1999, K-Floor has roots firmly
planted in the blues while pulling
elements from rock and swing.
The band has been featured on
Fox Television's Good Day
Philadelphia, radio station Y- 100's
Feztival and Philadelphia's Jam
on the River, among other engage-
ments. Along with Non Filtered,
the band also has a live recording
for sale at all its shows.
