Sussex Pines Lady
Golfers host tourney
The following 18-Hole Lady Golfers were win-
ners April l I at the Sussex Pines Country Club
near Georgetown.
The low net division was won by Janey King
followed by Pat Ferullo and Evelyn Jones (tie for
second), Marie Scarfi and Ruth Hudson.
The low gross division was won by Rhetta Rose
Frampton with Bernie Reid taking second place.
Delaware Tech nine
falls to Camden College
Camden County College of New Jersey scored
a pair of runs in the eighth inning to give Camden
I-7 win over Delaware Tech in baseball April 4.
Behind 5-0, the Roadrunners scored three in the
fifth and four in the sixth, but Camden came back
to score two more runs in the sixth to tie the game.
Jay Baiback had a double and an RBI triple for
Del Tech, with Derek Haley collecting three hits
and Darryl Cheever adding two hits and an RBI.
Pitcher C.J. Preston (1-3) took the loss.
Delaware Tech
drops two in softball
The Roadrunners of Gloucester (N.J.) Commu-
nity College defeated the Lady Roadrunners of
Del Tech in both games of a doubleheader on
April 1. Gloucester blanked Del Tech in the first
game 2-0 and won 8-7 in the nightcap.
In the opener, Rindi Gilchrist's triple was the
only hit for the Lady Roadrunners. Pitcher
Heather Dewey recorded her fourth loss.
In the second game, Dewey went 2-for-4 with
an RBI, while Gilchrist added an RBI double.
Pitcher Rachel Morris (4-5) took the loss for Del
Tech.
Atlantic Lacrosse wins
opener vs. Brandywine
The Atlantic Lacrosse team won its first game
of the season, Sunday, April 2, against Brandy-
wine.
Brice Howard and Tommy Grogan each scored
four goals, Mike Shook had three, Bo Pratt scored
two, and adding one each were Andrew Rogan,
Rory Rogan, Nick Albanese and Branden Barnes.
Adding assists were Andrew Barranco with three,
and helping the effort with an outstanding offen-
sive effort was Billy Wright.
Jason Cooper and Andrew Rogan had a great
defensive game.
The final score was Atlantic 17, Brandywine 5.
Cape school board
names new coaches
The Cape Henlopen School District Board of
Education approved three new coaching positions
during its regular monthly meeting, March 23.
Mark Mayer has been named new head coach
for the Milton Middle School football team.
Leroy Leppo has been named a volunteer base-
ball coach for Milton Middle School.
Charles Smith has been named a volunteer soft-
ball coach for Cape Henlopen High School.
