Designer Showhouse IV kicks off
with Bare Bones party in Lewes
The furniture is gone, the wall-
paper is stripped and the designers
are ready to dive into their work at
"Merrywood," Designer Show-
house IV at 817 Savannah Road in
Lewes.
They gathered for a Bare Bones
Party on April 22 to discuss their
plans with representatives of the
organizations which will benefit
from proceeds garnered when the
finished house is open to the pub-
lic Saturday, May 18 through Sat-
urday, June 15. Open daily from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., except Sundays,
from 1 to 5 p.m., at $8 per ticket
before May 18 and $10 thereafter,
the beneficiaries will be Rehoboth
Art League and Sussex County
Habitat for Humanity.
This is the fourth consecutive
year that Designer Showhouse has
opened to the public a residence
transformed by 18 interior design-
ers and their staffs. This particular
home, owned by Dennis and
Becky Forney, is a farmhouse
built in 1911 by John Baylis in the
"New Federal" style and one of
the unique features is the abun-
dance of built-in furniture and
cabinets normally associated with

tat For Humanity; Ran Trupp, incoming president of Habitat

Porch will feature the multi-faceted artwork of Charles
Palmer, former director of Rehoboth Art League.
