Parsons will be hosting "A Day with Rick Adams - Turn Tourism Insights into Tourist Income" for resort area business people from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday, June 5. Adams, of R & C Travel Pro- motions, has been involved with travel and tourism for over 30 years, having served 16 years in the hospitality industry, with 12 years in the Ohio Division of Travel and Tourism, several spent as manager of consumer affairs and marketing. Adams promotes Ohio's tourism at consumer travel shows, senior group leader mar- kets and motor coach operators. He conducts seminars and market- ing plans for Ohio's Convention and Visitors Bureau. With a master's degree in hospi- tality and management from Ohio State University, Adams teaches travel and tourism curriculum at four colleges and served as presi- dent 1993-94 of the International Association of Travel Exhibitors. In 1991 he was voted Outstanding Tourism Professional by Hocking College travel and tourism profes- sors and students and received Outstanding Association Member of the Year in 1992 from IATE. Morning program topics (8:30- 11:45 a.m.) include marketing tourist attractions or businesses without using up capital; the se- nior market and bus tour market. There will then be a luncheon buf- fet aboard the Lewes Princess from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The luncheon topic will include FAM tours. The afternoon programs (1:30- 4:30 p.m.) will include getting other businesses involved in tourism, successful co-op market- ing, front line hospitality training and travel writers.
