Church Notes
Summer Worship Services set at Cape Park
The Lewes-Rehoboth Association of Churches, in cooperation with
the staff at Cape Henlopen State Park, is conducting the Park Summer
Worship Service at Cape Henlopen State Park, which begins at 8 a.m.
and lasts approximately 30 minutes every Sunday.
The service features a blend of scripture readings, prayers, speaking
and hymns and is conducted in turn by members of the various
churches. Chairperson Betty Dunn has coordinated a full schedule and
due to the increased interest shown by campers and members of the
community, the season has been extended on a trial basis this summer,
ending on Sept. 8. SinGe services are held in the Family Campgrounds
Amphitheater again this year, all are subject to cancellation due to
inclement weather. Each Sunday an offering will be taken and at the
end of the season, when the total collection has been determined, the
Association will distribute the funds to several local charitable groups.
"A Day Apart" set for All Saints Church June 12
"A Day Apart" is the name given to a one-day retreat to be held from
9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, at All Saints' Episcopal
Church, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach.
The event is being sponsored by a small, ecumenical spiritual reading
group of which several people are All Saints' Parish members. The Rev.
Elizabeth Turner of All Saints' will be the leader and she has selected
the concept of "Building Sabbath Rest Into Your Life" as the topic of
her short meditations. The idea is that even if you can't come to church
on Sunday, you can build Sabbath rest into your life, a good idea for
busy working people during the summer and others unable to attend
church. Along with meditations and quiet reflective time in the church,
there will be music and perhaps relaxation exercises. Everyone is
encouraged to bring a bag lunch and coffee and donuts will be served at
9:30 a.m., with coffee and dessert at lunch. There is a $10 registration
fee, with checks payable to All Saints' Parish. Call Betty Fleming at

Israel UM Church sets fish dinner June 15
A fish dinner, which includes two hard shell crabs, vegetables, cole
slaw, cornbread, dessert and beverage, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.,
Saturday, June 15 at Rabbit's Ferry Community Center.
The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12 and the evefit is
sponsored by the "Voices of Praise" of Israel United Methodist Church.

Lutherans plan midweek informal services
The Lutheran Church of Our Savior invites the public and visitors to
their weekly 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Midweek Informal Services which
begin June 12 and continue through Aug. 22. The church is located at 7
Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach.
Del State Alumni set sermon for June 9
The Sussex County Alumni Chapter of Delaware State University
will hold its annual sermon on Sunday, June 9 at St. George's AME
Church, Lewes. The speaker will be Dr. Clifton Brown, Class of
1947,with Pastor the Rev. Charles Dennis. Everyone is invited and
alumni are especially urged to attend.
