CAPE GAZEIrE, Friday, June 7 - June 13, 1996 - 49 Miss Delaware Pageant set this weekend in Rehoboth The Miss Delaware Scholarship Organization will sponsor its 55th Annual Miss Delaware Pageant at 8 p.m. on June 7 and 8 at the Re- hoboth Beach Convention Center. This year'spageant, with the theme "Where Dreams Come True" will be a celebration of 30 years in Rehoboth Beach. Eighteen young women from throughout the state will compete in this pageant, the official prelim- inary to the Miss America Pageant which is held annually in Atlantic City each September. The new Miss Delaware will be crowned by Michelle Harris, Miss Delaware 1995. The participants will have the opportunity to win scholarships totaling $27,000. The participants are Miss Peach Blossom Tricia M. McCrae, Miss First State Krissie Rae Stuart, Miss Kent County Laura Eliza- beth Minor, Miss Blue-Gold Georgiana M. Stale,y, Miss Mills- boro Angela Nicole White, Miss Georgetown Kristie Michele Berlin Village Fair set The Town of Berlin will hold its annual Village Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 on historic Main Street. The Village Fair is sponsored by the Berlin Chamber of Commerce. Crafts vendors will open their stands first thing in the morning and the farmer's market will be open as well. Games will be open for children along with face painting, walking a rope bridge and a softball pitch- ing contest. The ever popular horse and carriage rides will begin at 11 a.m. The Worcester County Arts Council will sponsor an art show. At 2:30 p.m. the Berlin Bathtub race will begin. At 3:30 p.m., a charity drawing will be held for the embroidered quilt. For more information call (410) 641- 4775. Powell is an accom- plished singer and the hostess of the television show "Home Mat- ters" and is scheduled to perform on Saturday evening. Mario Rocco is also scheduled to perform on both nights. The pageant's opening number will be a medley from "Dream Girls" and the contestants will model swimsuits during a perfor- mance of "Under the Boardwalk". All contestants will compete on Friday evening and at the begin- ning of Saturday night's pageant, the top ten girls will be selected. From those ten contestants, the top five will compete during the on-stage interviews.
