Obituaries Wynona June Boland, Bull on Beach worker Wynona June Boland, 68, of Long Neck and formerly of Silver Spring, Md., died Monday, June 5, 2000, at home. Mrs. Boland moved to Delaware in 1993 and was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth Beach and had been a volunteer at Beebe Medical Center. She had been employed locally by Bull on the Beach Restaurant, Rehoboth Beach, and previously she was the executive chef for Export Im- port Bank of the United States in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Boland is survived by her husband, John F. Boland. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 12, at the Lutheran Church of Our Sav- ior, 7 Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach. Contributions are sug- gested to Delaware Hospice, Southern Division, 600 N. DuPont Hwy., Georgetown DE 19947. Arrangements were made by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crema- torium, Lewes. Bernice 'Nicey' Jackson, Israel Church member Bernice C. "Nicey" Jackson, 73, of Lewes, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, in Beebe Medical Center. Mrs. Jackson was born in Lewes, the daughter of the late Liston and Viola Johnson Wright. She was a homemaker. She was also a member of Israel United Methodist Church in Lewes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harland I. Jackson, in 1985; and a granddaughter, Gwendolyn Sheppard Doughty, in 1995. She is survived by four daugh- ters, Evelyn Dunning, Vonnie Burton and Darlene Jackson, all of Lewes, and Donnie Witke of Georgetown; a son, Jerry Jackson of Lewes; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June lO, at Israel U.M. Church, Five Points, near Lewes, where friends may call two hours prior to the service and where the Rev. Annie Jane Custis will offici- ate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements were made by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro. Shirley A. Burton, night manager Shirley A. Burton, 64, of Newarkand formerly of Wilm- ington, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at Christiana Hospital. Mrs. Burton was the manager of the night shift at Howard John- son's, Kirkwood Highway. Dur- ing her 24 years of service, she was the best friend of every cus- tomer who came to the door. Mrs. Burton attended Faith City Church, enjoyed fishing and her family. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Alvin M. Burton; children, Deborah J. Martin of Newport, Lorinda Lafferty of Newark, Christopher Burton of Lewes, Deanna Woodward of Newark and Christina Sage of Newark; and nine grandchildren. Services and burial were held at Gracelawn Memorial Park. Con- tributions are suggested to the American Heart Association, 1096 Old Churchman's Road, Newark DE .19713-213Z Robert Michael Reuther, sales accounts manager Robert Michael Reuther, 73, of Winding Creek Village, Mills- boro, died Monday, June 5, 2000, in his sleep at home. Mr. Reuther graduated from Long Branch High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a radio operator on a C-47 transport from 1944 to 1946. After the war he attended the University of Miami and then entered the field of,.idustrial sales. Prior to his retirement in 1990, Mr. Reuther was a national accounts manager tor the Con: tainer Corporation of America. He and his wife, Merle, relocated from Wilmington to the Delaware seashore where he enjoyed play- ing golf as a member of Sussex Pines Country Club, boating, gar- dening and his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Merle; three sons, Robert Jr. and his wife Holly of Wilming- ton, Eric and his wife Joanne of Lewes, Kurt and his wife Pam of Lewes; his daughter, Melissa and her husband, David Scott of Ken- nett Square, Pa.; and five grand- children. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 9, at Mary, Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Mills- boro, with burial private. Keuski, former resort resident Craig E. Keuski, 23, of Balti- more and formerly of Rehoboth Beach, was found dead in the Pat- apsco River near Baltimore on Thursday, June 1, 2000, having been reported missing five days before. Mr. Keuski had been at a nightclub near Baltimore's In- ner Harbor the last evening he was seen alive and a female friend offered to take him by KEUSKI boat to a marina near her resi- dence with five other people on board. When the group arrived at the marina an hour later Mr. Keuski was no longer aboard and the Maryland State Police are in- vestigating his death, ruling it suspicious. An autopsy was scheduled for June 6. Mr. Keuski was a 1994 gradu- ate of James H. Groves Adult High School in Georgetown and was employed as an apprentice/journeyman for Steamfitters Union 486 M&E Sales, a division of Honeywell, having moved to Baltimore in 1997. He recently completed his licensing certification as a jour- neyma, h. He enjoyed woodwork- ing, working on cars, fishing and camping. Mr. Keuski is survived by his parents, Dennis E. and Kathleen A. Keuski of Rehoboth Beach; a brother, Brian M. Keuski of Re- hoboth Beach; his grandparents, Arthur Stritch and Louis and Marie Keuski; and other relatives and fliends. Michael Paul Sackawicz, retired electrician Michael Paul Sackawicz, 77, Of rural Millsboro, and formerly of Lester, Pa., died Friday, June 2, 2000, at home. He was a retired electrician for Westinghouse Corporation in Lester, for 38 years. He was a vet- eran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mary, Mother of Peace Catholic Church, the Cape Hen- lopen Elks Lodge, Mason-Dixon VFW Post 7234 at Quillen's Point in Ocean View, American Legion Post 28, at Riverdale-Oak Or- chard, and the Indian River Yacht Club. She was a member of Grace Church, Milton, and enjoyed bird- watching, gardening, sewing and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralton, in 1975. Harvatt, Army director Julius J. Harvatt, 75, of Nokomis, Fla., and formerly of Lewes, Del., died Monday, May 29, 2000, at home. Mr. Harvatt was a retired direc- tor of studies and analysis of the Secretary of the U.S. Army. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Venice. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marion D.; two daughters, Kathleen A. Harvatt of Baltimore, Md. and Janice H. Patterson of Miami; two sisters, Irene E, Duffieldof Morris Plains, N.J., and Mary Chamberlain of Rock- ford, I11.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
