CHEER gets funds The CHEER/Coastal Leisure Center, to be built on Cedar Neck Road in Ocean View, has developed a com- mittee which has a pledge campaign to raise the $700,000 to complete the building. So far, the commit- tee has raised $180,000 from government and individuals. The next phase is to solicit donations from community groups and business leaders. The Women's Civic Club of Bethany Beach has donated $1,000 to the campaign. Shown receiving the dona- tion is committee member and CHEER director Rose Snider. Roth of Delaware has announced that Worcester Preparatory School junior Tom Clark of Bethany Beach has been selected to serve as a U.S. Senate page this sum- mer. The Senate page program is an opportunity for students to ob- serve the Senate at work while providing a valuable service to the Senate and its member. Thirty students are selected to serve the Senate's 100 members. Worcester Preparatory's headmaster, Dr. Barry Tull, said, "We are proud that Tom is one of the thirty. He is an excellent student who will thoroughly en- joy his work as a Senate page. With his out- standing quali- fications and interest in the workings of our country, he will excel as a CLARK Senate page."
