Beach Beads offers shoppers jewelry supplies
as a craft, we're planning to offer classes in Ju-
ly. An expanded collection of clothing is al-
ready on order, and we're expecting that to at-
tract many shoppers."
Customers at Beach Beads should enjoy the
atmosphere of the shop and their ability to
browse leisurely for the special beads, stones
and findings they may need for a desired cre-
ation. If advice is needed, help is readily pro-
vided by Kiernan or her assistant, Heidi
Sweringen.

Maryellen Kiernan's Beach Beads & Col-
lectibles shop at 52 Rehoboth Avenue has all
the makings anyone would ever need to create
a beautiful, personalized piece of jewelry or,
for the more ambitious, an intricately beaded
belt, jacket or purse.
Beach Beads - formerly known as S&A
Beads - was purchased by Kiernan during the
off season. As locals will notice immediately
upon entering the pleasantly decorated shop,
lots of new items have been added to the col-
lection.
"We have a nice collection of mood candles
and candle holders, lamps, jars, clothes and
wall hangings," noted Kiernan during a shop
tour. "But our beads and findings - the small
clasps, strings and points needed to make
beaded jewelry - are still our main attraction."
What shoppers will discover in Beach Beads
is a vast collection of various shaped and
drilled semi-precious stones, excellent for
beading. Many of the findings are offered in
gold and silver, as well as in base metals.
There are also an assortment of charms for all
types of hobby interests, plenty of German and
Czechoslovakian glass beads and hundreds of
ready-made beaded necklaces, bracelets, belly
chains and anklets.
"We have a lot of rings and body jewelry at
attractive prices," Kiernan explained. "And for
