build a new parish hall.
Noel caught the magic bug ear-
ly when he saw his first show at
age 8 or.9. "It was after school, in
a church," Noel said, "and in one
of the magic tricks, the magician
and his wife took ingredients and
turned them into candy for the
grand finale."
Noel, who is from York, P,a., re-
tired to Angola in 1991 after 30
years with General Telephone and
Electronics. "We'd had a place
here since 1965." Retiring meant
more time to devote to magic
shows. He has been performing
for 45 years, before, during and
after his career with the telephone
company. He started doing magic
shows at the age of 14.
