What ensues is one of the most
imaginative stories ever told on
celluloid, as we experience one
version, one more, and yet a third
of Lola running non-stop
throughout the city to try to come
up with the goods. Each time we
see the action from a slightly dif-
ferent perspective and we even
get a crystal ball glimpse into the
futures of people who she deliri-
ously whizzes past in this most
unusual and exciting story of
punk-love and devotion.

The film is rated R for language

Petro's art exhibit, 'Produce,' on
display at Blue Moon through June
The Blue Moon, a restaurant at
35 Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth
Beach, is featuring the work of
artist Brian Petro through the end
of June. The show, titled "Pro-
duce," is inspired by his recent
trips to Rome and London and
features still life - a study of the
simple beauty of fruits and veg-
etables.
The technique of photograph-
ing fruits and vegetables and then
using a multi-step process to ma-
nipulate and move the image onto
a heavy gauge watercolor paper
creates an image that is stark and,
at the same time, melancholy but
familiar and welcoming.
The technique Petro uses of
sectioning his photographic im-
ages and then re-piecing them for
the final piece forces the viewer
to attend to the detail of the image
rather than take the image as a
whole. The work is a true testa-
ment to Petro's mastery of pho-
tography, composition and use of
negative space.
This is a transitional show for
Petro, as it marks the occasion of
his transition into a full time
artist. After a career in sports
medicine and health education,
Petro has decided to focus on art,
as it has been his passion for
years. "For over the past four
years this has been my passion,
something close to my soul. This
is what I want to do full time and I
have been fortunate to have major
gallery support and the commis-
sions to pursue this full time,"
Petro said. Soon Petro will be
based in Washington, D.C., and is
currently featured at Rivaga Art
gallery. Also representing Petr
are Philadelphia galleries Works
on Paper and Sande Webster.
Petro has spent the past five sum-
mers in Rehoboth Beach, which
continues to give him endless in-
spiration. For further details, con-
tact The Blue Moon at 227-6515.
