DRBA sponsors line up for
annual Hospital Benefit
The promise of world-class en-
tertainment at the Delaware River
& Bay Authority's fifth annual
Hospital Benefit - over Indepen-
dence Day weekend - has struck a
chord with like-minded sponsors
who have banded together to
make the annual event better then
ever before.
Confirming the support of sev-
eral national and local sponsors
through a variety of sponsorship
packages, Michael E. Harkins, ex-
ecutive director of the DRBA,
said, "An evening on the shores of
the Delaware Bay with interna-
tionally acclaimed pop and coun-
try singer Martina McBride, as
well as the Delaware Symphony
Orchestra, proved too good to re-
sist. Sponsors and concert patrons
are in for a real treat, but the real
beneficiaries will be the residents
of Lewes and Cape May, whose
needs we serve with the Cape
May-Lewes Ferry, as the benefit
concert is a major fundraiser for
the Beebe Medical Center in
Lewes and the Burdette Tomlin
Memorial Hospital of Cape May
Court House."
Dover Downs Slots and Hard-
core Composites will once again
join the DRBA as presenting
sponsors for this event. With its
new 65,000-sq. ft. Las Vegas-
style casino and nearly 2,000
state-of-the-art slot machines,
Dover Downs Slots is an impor-
tant part of Delaware's nightlife
scene. Its Grandstand Theater fea-
tures top acts - such as Gladys
