ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids will be received by the City of Lewes, Delaware (herein
called the "OWNER") at the office of George, Miles & Buhr, 206
Downtown Plaza, Salisbury, MD 21801, until 2:00 PM local time on
Tuesday, June 27, 2000, and then at said location publicly opened and
read aloud.
WASHINGTON AVENUE REHABILITATION
CONTRACT DURATION: 120 CALENDAR DAYS
Work consists of removal of existing street, sidewalk, curb, gutter, sewer
main, sewer laterals, storm drain and lead water service laterals; and
replacement with approximately 3,300 square yards of bituminous con-
crete pavement, approximately 1,500 linear feet of curb and gutter,
approximately 5,000 square feet of sidewalk, approximately 674 linear
feet of sanitary sewer pipe and appurtenances, approximately 14 house
sewer services, approximately 958 linear feet of storm drain pipe and
appurtenances, approximately 145 linear feet of water main and appur-
tenances, and approximately 545 linear feet of water services and appur-
tenances.
Contract documents may be examined at the offices of the Mayor and
Council, City Hall, East Third Street, Lewes, Delaware 19958 and
George, Miles & Buhr, LLP, 206 Downtown Plaza, Salisbury, Maryland
21801.
Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of
George, Miles & Buhr, LLP, 206 Downtown Plaza, Salisbury, Maryland
21801, upon payment of Sixty Dollars ($60.00) for each set, non-refund-
able. Checks made payable to George, Miles & Buhr, LLP.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within ninety (90) days after the actual
date of the opening thereof.
Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond payable to the Owner for
ten (10) percent of the total amount of the bid.
A pre-bid meeting will be held at 2:00 PM local time on Monday, June 12,
2000, in the offices of the Mayor and Council, Lewes, Delaware, to allow
Bidders an opportunity to obtain information on the project from the
Engineer and Owner.
The right is reserved, as the interests of City of Lewes, Delaware appear,
to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities in bids received, and
to accept or reject any items of any bid and to extend the time and place

The Owner reserves the right to choose a combination of base bids,
