VFW Ladies Auxiliary to hold membership drive
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 10638 in Mills-
boro will hold a membership drive on Saturday, June 21 from 11:30
a.m. to 1 p.m. To be eligible to join the organization, women must be an
adult relative to a person who served overseas in the Armed Forces.

Angola Women's Club yard sale slated June 21
The Angola By The Bay Yard Sale, sponsored by the Angola By The
Bay Women's Club, will be held Saturday, June 21 from 9 a.m: to 3
p.m. There are no space reservations; first come-first served. Spaces are
$10. The raindate will be June 22. For more information, call 947-1270.
Rehoboth Kiwanis Club picks Anderson as Teenager of Year
The Kiwanis Club of Rehoboth Beach has proclaimed Ashley Alliene Anderson as its 1997

Ashley is the daughter of Stephen and Lezlie Anderson of Rehoboth Beach and earned the
status of Teenager of the Year by maintaining a 3.8 GPA at Cape Henlopen" High School, grad-
uating ninth in her class, while actively participating in studentgovernment as class presi-
dent for all four years.
She was also president of the National Junior Honor Society, varsity football and wrestling
cheerleader and captain her senior year, and participated in varsity golf throughout high
school. Anderson also garnered such accolades as member of the Student Advisory Commit-
tee, NCA Camp TEAM Award (best squad to work as a team), ski club, yearbook, Viking Ven-
tures news editor, Kiwanis Key Club, Governor's Walk for Meals on Wheels and many other
community service activities.
Anderson has also been proclaimed Teenager of the Year for Division 11 of Capitol District
Kiwanis Club and her name has been submitted to Capitol District Kiwanis for district-wide
consideration.
Archeologist dig at Read House in New Castle
Come watch as archeologists unearth the past in front of your eyes at
the Read House Gardens, 42 The Strand, in historic New Castle. Visi-
tors will be given guided tours of the dig where they can look over the
sfioulders of archeologists as they excavate historic artifacts. There will
be free public • tours of the Read House during the excavation, which
will take place from June 24 to July 24, on Tuesdays through Fridays at
10:30 and 11:30 a.m., 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., With Saturday tours running
on the half-hour between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
