78 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, Aug. 18 - Aug. 24, 2000 Fine and Rare Wine Auction slated Aug. 26 in Rehoboth The Mid-Atlantic Wine Auction Company will hold its first Re- hoboth Beach Fine and Rare Wine Auction. Wine and Waves. from 4:30-7 p.m.. Aug. 28. at the Re- hoboth Beach Convention Center. "The Rehoboth auction is spe- cial because we keep hearing that the Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach crowd really appreciates extraordinary wine, said Mid-At- lantic's vice president, Gary Rein- er. "We are bringing the auction to them so they can get a taste for who we are and what we have to offer. They won't be disappoint- ed." Mid-Atlantic specializes in hard to find and older vintage wines not readily accessible in most parts of the country. One hundred and fifty lots of excep- tional California and French wines have been assembled for the Rehoboth auction. In a format experiment, another 50 select lots will be presented at silent auction at this same event. Scott McMeekin of Lewes was the big winner of the 50/50 draw- ing on Saturday, Aug. 12, winning over $2,600. The Millsboro Pageant crowned four winners Aug. 10, including Emily Collins, the daughter of Rob and Cindy Collins, as Little Miss Millsboro. The first runner up was Kara Sue Bethke, daughter of Randy and Candy Bethke. Kristen Swenson, daughter of Sven and Debra Swenson, was the winner of the Juvenile Miss Millsboro title. The first runner- up was Courtney Colegrove, the daughter of Alan and Stacey Colegrove, and the second runner up was Cassandra Short, the daughter of Ronald and Gail Short. The new Junior Miss Millsboro is Jessica Norwood, the daughter of Robert and Julie Norwood, with Brittany Proudfoot, the daughter of Michael and Kimber- ly Proudfoot the first runner up, and Sara McCabe, the daughter of Sewall and Julie McCabe as sec- ond runner up. The winner of the coveted crown of Miss Teen Millsboro was Jessica Hudson, the daughter of Kim and Tammy Hudson.
