Gallery One because the 16
gallery artists are not all showing
a common theme. Each artist is
selecting a piece to share with
the public that has an important
significance to the maker. The
artists have been asked to write a
statement that will be displayed
with their work to give viewers
insight into the artist's intentions
and direction.
Artists like Tinsel Hughes and
Lesley McCaskill are showing
paintings that are a break-
through in their development.
Hughes has been working on de-
veloping colors in oil that pro-
voke a sense of mood, and Mc-
CaskiU has been working on in-
corporating figures with land-
scapes. Dale Sheldon is showing,
"Old Fish Market Close," a re-
Meehan, who works intuitively
with paint looking for an image
to speak to her, is displaying
"Two by Two."
Other gallery artists choose
themes that evoke memories and
joy. Sonia Hunt, who lived in
Italy, happily painted "Modena,"
showing the wonderful architec-
ture. Pat Riordan chose
"Delaware Bay" for the glorious
color of the local marshes in fall.
Joyce Condry says, "Flowers
make me happy, and I want them
everywhere - in my garden, on
my tables and on my wall." She is
exhibiting "Tulips in a White
Vase."
Nine more artists will be
showing with these seven on the
theme wall. The public is invited
to visit the gallery to talk to the
artists. Also, a generous selec-
tion of fine jewelry, ceramics,
fibers and digital art is offered in
the artisan room.
